One person, from survey to support.
I’m Daniel Lovett, an independent IT consultant based in Dallas-Fort Worth. The person you email is the person who designs, installs and looks after your network.
Every layer, one point of contact.
Small networks usually fail at the seams. One company ran the cables, another sold the firewall, and nobody owns the Wi-Fi.
I take responsibility for the whole stack, from the patch panel to the accounts your team signs in with. When something goes wrong, there is one person to call and no argument about whose problem it is.
- Patch panel
- Switching
- Firewall
- Server and backups
- Power protection
Why an independent consultant.
- No sales targets.
- Equipment is recommended because it suits the job, not because of a quota or a margin.
- No hand-offs.
- You won’t be passed between departments. The person who scopes the work is the person who does it.
- Sized to fit.
- Small businesses and homes don’t need enterprise complexity. You get what fits, with room to grow.
Questions people ask first.
Do you work with homes as well as businesses?
Yes. Home work is usually whole-home Wi-Fi, a secure home-office setup, or cabling during a renovation or new build.
Can you work with clients outside your area?
Managed IT and consulting work well remotely, so location rarely matters. Installation needs someone on-site, which I cover across the Greater DFW area.
Can you take over from our current IT provider?
Yes. I start by documenting what is already in place, then plan the changeover with you so nothing is lost along the way.
How do we get started?
Send an email describing your space and what you need. I’ll reply personally to arrange a call or a site visit.
Tell me what you’re working with.
One email is enough to start. Describe the space, the people using it and what isn’t working.
